What are the LaunchTown Entrepreneurship Awards?
Program: Idea competition open to ALL COLLEGE STUDENTS OF ALL MAJORS, with the award going to the BEST IDEA submitted for a new product, business or service. This is an annual event and this year's event (2010) was on April 19th. Review this website for all information on the 2011 competition.
Purpose: “Taking the ideal to the real!” with the award of cash, business services, board of advisor services and connection to investor networks, all to help inspire the launch of the winning student's idea towards success.
Judging and Package: The LaunchTown Leadership Team voted on winners for 2010, with a special prize package to the winners, including $25,000 in prizes of cash and services, as well as a special recognition packages.
Awards Reception: All students that submitted essays, including their friends and family, were invited to this very special event, as well as all the sponsors, Leadership Team, business owners, area angel investors, venture capital groups, business incubators, alumni, the public and the media. The reception for 2010 was held at The University of Akron's Martin Center.
